UK Visitor Visa Assistance for Tourism and Family Visits

Thinking of a holiday in London, a short visit to friends or time with family in the UK? A Standard Visitor application should clearly explain why you are travelling, how the trip will be funded and why it is temporary. Start by sharing your travel plans with our team.

Who is the UK Standard Visitor route for?

The Standard Visitor route generally covers holidays, family and friend visits and certain other permitted short stays. A typical visit can last up to six months, but the permitted activities and actual conditions matter. Visiting family is not itself a separate long-term family settlement route.

What should applicants be ready to explain?

  • Purpose and proposed length of visit.
  • Who will pay for travel, accommodation and day-to-day costs.
  • Your employment, business, studies or other commitments at home.
  • Your immigration and travel history, including previous refusals where relevant.
  • Whether someone in the UK will host or support your visit.

Documents often relevant to a UK visit

Common evidence may include a valid travel document, information about work or studies, bank or other financial evidence, travel itinerary, family links and a host invitation when appropriate. The right combination differs for employees, business owners, retired parents and sponsored visitors.

Visiting parents or children in the UK

If your child lives in the UK, you may wish to spend time together for a family occasion, a holiday or a short visit. An invitation letter can explain the relationship and proposed arrangements; it does not replace the requirement to satisfy the visitor rules.

Our visitor visa enquiry process

  • Tell us your departure country and expected travel dates.
  • Explain if the trip is self-funded or partly supported by family.
  • Share any earlier visa refusal or unusual travel issue.
  • Receive information about the next steps and available assistance.
COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my son or daughter sponsor my UK visit?

A relative may provide accommodation or financial support, where appropriately evidenced. The application must still satisfy all relevant visitor requirements.

Is a fixed bank balance required?

There is no one universal savings amount that fits every visitor. Costs, income, available funds and the overall situation are considered.

Can I use a visit visa to settle in the UK?

No. A Standard Visitor visa is for permitted temporary visits, not to live in the UK through frequent or successive visits.

Can I apply again after refusal?

A new application may be possible, but the refusal reasons should be understood and addressed rather than ignored.
