Receiving a Certificate of Sponsorship from your employer is an important step, but it is not the visa itself. If your employer has assigned you a CoS, you may be ready to assess the Skilled Worker application requirements.
Who this service is for
This service is intended for applicants who already have a valid CoS assigned by a UK employer and wish to understand the next stage of their visa application. We do not find jobs, arrange employers or sell sponsorships.
What should a CoS holder check?
- CoS reference details and relevant dates.
- Employer and occupation details.
- Applicable salary and occupation requirements.
- English language requirements and any exemptions.
- Proof of identity, financial or other evidence where relevant.
- Whether the application must be made from overseas or can be made inside the UK.
Applying from India
Applicants outside the UK may need an entry-clearance application, supporting documents, identity verification and any applicable TB-test evidence. Procedures depend on nationality and location.

Switching or extending is not permitted from every category. Your current permission and circumstances must be checked before deciding which route or application location is available.
